Rules and Regulations of the AOD Library
1.The student is allowed to borrow two books and two magazines/CDs/DVDs for a loan period of seven days . If the student wants to extend, the loan may be renewed for an additional seven days if the book has not been reserved by another student. The student may reserve books or other materials at the Circulation Desk (through the Librarian/Library Assistant).
2. The fine for overdue books is five (10/-) Rupee per day. The student is responsible for any material lent to them.
3. The student must pay the market value for any materials lost or damaged while in their care. The total value of material (Book/Magazine/CD) and the cost of the bar code sticker Rs50/- will be charged to the student. In the case of the barcode being damaged only a fee of Rs.50/- will be charged. If the student is unable to pay for the material lost or damaged, the final certificate will not be issued by the A.O.D.Colombo (Pvt) Ltd.
4. Tearing of materials is a punishable offence and the A.O.D. Colombo (Pvt) Ltd has the authority to take disciplinary action for any misuse of materials. It will be charged double the value of the respective material if found tearing.
5. The membership will be automatically expired at the end of the course/ or if the student leaves prior to completion of the course.
6. All your bags including your handbags need to be kept in the Bags rack as soon as you enter the AOD Library. Only your pencil case and notebooks are allowed.
7. All mobile phones should be kept on silent mode.
8. Talking is strictly prohibited. Respect the peace and quietness necessary for a Library environment. Please work without disturbing your fellow students
9. No practical studio work in the Library (cutting and pasting, painting materials: inks, wax crayons, and pattern cutting etc). The Library is not to be used as a studio. Working on your sketch book is allowed providing you do not use the above mentioned materials.
